THE ANNUAL Summer Showcase at Bromsgrove Folk Club will take place on Thursday, August 10. Four new acts will perform at the Catshill Club from 8pm. Among them will be The Way Out from Loughborough, Worcester young progressive folk rock trio Solstice, young Brummie soul inspired singer songwriter Philippa Zawe and Serenity, a four-piece folk band from Alvechurch. Serenity will perform traditional folk and tunes with Eastern European influences. Bob Bignell from Bromsgrove Folk Club said: “All of these acts will be anxious to convince our audiences they are worthy of a full spot at either the club or festival.” Admission is £4 for members and £6 for non-members. The club is continuing with its policy of admitting under 25s half price admission and a year’s free membership.
